We are committed to making all visitors feel at home with us at the festival. We therefore endeavour to make access to our facilities as barrier-free as possible and provide various ways of offering this. People with disabilities and their assistants


People with disabilities and assistants who accompany people with disabilities to a performance receive a ticket at the reduced IV price. The category can be selected directly when purchasing the ticket.


Wheelchair access  

 


Almost all our locations are wheelchair accessible without limitations and have wheelchair-accessible restrooms. There are a few exceptions: 

  • The wheelchair-accessible restroom in the  Festivalzentrum (Merker-Areal) is located behind Restaurant Spedition and is accessible from 6:00 to 20:30  frei zugänglich. For use before or after these times, please contact the information desk for the key.

  • The Kino Orient is partially accessible for wheelchair users (but without a wheelchair-accessible restroom). 


Guide dogs / assistance dogs 


Guide and/or assistance dogs have access to all venues. Please register in advance by e-mail to perret@fantoche.ch or 30 minutes before the start of the screening at the cinema box office. 


Fantoche is screening a film with audio description for the first time in 2024. Guests will receive live spoken descriptions of the film via headphones. The following screenings will be shown with audio description at Fantoche 2024: 


Selected films (especially children’s films) are offered with a live voiceover in German. The dialogue is not heard in the original language, but instead spoken live in German in your headphones. The following films will be screened with live voiceover at Fantoche 2024:

Sign language and closed captions 

 


The opening and closing speeches as well as all audience discussions before or after performances with closed captions will be translated into Swiss-German Sign Language (DSGS). In contrast to conventional subtitles, closed captions provide information on sound effects or scene descriptions. The following films with closed captions will be screened at Fantoche 2024: 


All films (unless explicitly stated otherwise) will be screened in the original version. If the original language is not German, the films will be subtitled in German and/or English.

Holders of a “KulturLegi” receive a 50 % discount on individual tickets. This does not apply to tickets for the Industry Day.
