General Terms and Conditions

1. Scope
These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) govern the purchase of tickets and attendance at events organised by Fantoche – International Animation Film Festival (hereinafter referred to as Fantoche or the organiser). By purchasing a ticket, the purchaser accepts these GTC.
2. Contracting Parties
A contract is formed between the purchaser and Fantoche upon completion of the purchase of a ticket, pass or accreditation.
3. Ticket Purchase
Tickets and passes may only be purchased through Fantoche’s official sales outlets. Fantoche accepts no liability for tickets and passes purchased via unauthorised platforms or third parties. The contract comes into effect upon successful completion of the ordering process and confirmation of payment. All prices are quoted in Swiss francs (CHF). Any advance booking, service or administration fees will be shown separately before the order is finalised. Whenever legally required, prices include VAT.
4. Tickets and Admission
Each ticket generally entitles the holder to attend the event specified on the ticket. The ticket must be presented at the entrance, either in printed or digital form, without being asked. Once a performance has begun, there is no entitlement to admission. For security or organisational reasons, late admission may be restricted or refused. Fantoche reserves the right to declare tickets invalid in the event of misuse, tampering or suspected forgery.
5. Festival Pass, Multi-pass and Single Tickets
Festival passes, multi-passes and single tickets entitle the holder to attend the respective events for which they are intended, in accordance with the terms and conditions provided. A festival or multi-pass does not constitute admission to individual screenings. A corresponding single ticket must be purchased in advance using the pass for each desired screening In the event of sold-out performances, even a valid festival pass does not entitle the holder to admission.

7. Returns and Refunds
There is generally no statutory right of cancellation or return for event tickets under Swiss law. Purchased tickets cannot, as a rule, be returned, exchanged or refunded. If a ticket holder is unable to attend an event (e.g., due to illness, accident or personal circumstances), they are not entitled to a refund.
8. Programme changes, postponements and cancellations
Fantoche reserves the right to make changes to the programme, performance times, venues, guests, jury members or the order of individual programme items. Such changes do not entitle the holder to return or claim a refund for tickets. If an event must be cancelled and no replacement event is held, the ticket price will be refunded. If an event is postponed, the ticket remains valid for the alternative date. Fantoche will decide on any refunds on a case-by-case basis. Any further claims, in particular for travel, accommodation, meals, parking, loss of earnings or other consequential costs, are excluded – insofar as permitted by law.
9. House Rules
The respective house rules and the instructions of the event and security staff apply to all venues. Anyone who causes significant disruption to the event, endangers other visitors or fails to comply with staff instructions may be excluded from the event without entitlement to a refund. 10. Loss or Theft
In the event of the loss or theft of a ticket, the information desk at the festival centre can be contacted during the festival (infostand@fantoche.ch). The ticket holder’s personal details and proof of purchase are required. At its discretion and subject to verification, the festival may issue a duplicate of a digital ticket, admission ticket or accreditation free of charge. In the event of the loss of a physical admission ticket or accreditation, the original proof of entry will be deactivated and a new one issued with a new booking code.
11. Resale
The private resale of tickets at the original price or at a lower price is permitted. Commercial resale and resale at inflated prices are prohibited without the express consent of Fantoche.
12. Photographic and audio recordings
Photographs, films and audio recordings will be made during the festival. These may be used for reporting purposes, as well as for the documentation and promotion of the festival in print media, on the website, on social media and via other Fantoche communication channels. Visitors who do not wish to be filmed or photographed are asked to speak to festival staff. Fantoche will take legitimate requests into account where possible. Personal photo or audio recordings are permitted for private use only. Recording entire film screenings or the commercial use of recordings is prohibited. The use of mobile phones, as well as taking photographs or filming during film screenings may be prohibited by event staff.
13. Liability
The organiser shall only be liable for damages within the limits set out by law. Liability for slight negligence and for indirect and consequential damages is excluded to the extent permitted by law. This limitation of liability does not apply to damage resulting from wilful misconduct or gross negligence, nor to personal injury, insofar as a limitation of liability is not permitted by law. Participation in the events is at the participant’s own risk.
14. Data Protection
Personal data is processed in accordance with the Swiss Data Protection Act (DSG). Fantoche’s privacy policy applies.
15. Final provisions
Should any provision of these General Terms and Conditions be wholly or partially invalid or unenforceable, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions. Swiss law applies exclusively. The place of jurisdiction is – to the extent permitted by law – Baden (AG), Switzerland.
