Artists' Present

COMING SOON: «REISE DER SCHATTEN»

In his feature debut, Swiss visual artist and animation director Yves Netzhammer aims to display a nightmarish vision of the future.

Based on the Golem story, the film examines and contemplates, via CGI, what makes a human human in this digital age. In his short films, Netzhammer develops forms of storytelling through digital models devoid of anything naturalistic, that lie “outside of the realms of language”, and foregrounds the visuals in a world that is governed by the intellectual. Netzhammer has worked with video installations, slide projections, object displays and drawings since 1997. He studied architecture and successfully graduated in visual design from the former Zurich University of Art and Design. He now lives in Zurich, and has been featured in numerous magazines and books.
