Kids Film Competition 2026
Who am I? How do I interact with the world? What impact do my actions have on the people, animals and nature around me?
This year’s Children’s Film Competition showcases a diverse selection of short films that explore these questions in a broader sense. For instance, a squirrel that ties up the sun so that it never rains again (“A Sunny Story”) or a surreal thread-like creature that fights against a gigantic hand, only then to be cast out by its own kind when it returns (“Taut”).
The heroes and heroines in these stories gain an understanding of the community in which they live, while learning that their own needs do not always have to coincide with those of others. They learn to rise above themselves, to connect with their surroundings and, in doing so, to find their place in the world.
