«IP/ID – Original Content Development in a Changing Market»
IP/ID - developing original content for the Animation Industry
Intellectual Property and Identity - original content development in a changing market.
The bootcamp “IP/ID - Intellectual property in the Animation industry” is dedicated to the topics of original content development and protection of intellectual property and what exploitation opportunities they can provide. At this bootcamp, creatives and producers are taught how to successfully identify, promote and sell their ideas and concepts to international distributors, co-producers, investors and buyers. The Bootcamp is tailored to individuals, studios or collectives with ideas for the development of original content and formats for commercial exploitation (series, games, etc.). An already existing idea or a project in development is of advantage when participating in this bootcamp.
The aim is not an intensive and detailed examination of this topic, but rather to provide an overview and outline, what possibilities and chances this topic could offer for creators in Switzerland and other European countries. What does IP mean, what relevance does it have for the industry and its market and what legal implications must be considered? How do we protect ourselves and how can we profit from it, e. g. how can I sell my ideas to the big production houses? These are some of the questions we want to explore. Four internationally renowned experts will each lead 1 session on this topic and will point out different perspectives that are decisive in this field: Art Directors, Producers, Legal Experts for intellectual property, Sponsors, Investors or Distributors.
